Google Home is planning to go head to head against Amazon Echo. No wonder, Amazon is about to face its biggest competitor yet in Smart Home Technology. With their current modifications, Google might be able to step into the monopoly market of Amazon.

Over the years, Amazon Echo has earned a stout reputation and harvested a strong following. However, the advantage for Google still remains its Voice Assistance, which even surpasses the accuracy of Siri and Alexa. Unlike other voice command sensors, Google’s Voice Assistance can understand complex accents and provide accurate results to the users.

What is Google Home?

Google home is a small speaker inbuilt with Google’s Voice Assistance feature. Simply put, it is a flexible device that allows you to leverage Google’s services without tapping the screen of your mobile device. Beyond regular search, Google Home can also turn on your television, tell you about your day, show you your daily chores, notify you about the traffic congestion, and tell you how long it will take to reach your destination. However, Google Home is lagging behind because of the unavailability of Bluetooth connection. But in a recent Google IO convention, the IT giant introduced some cool additions to the product that may inspire Amazon Echo fans to switch to Google Home.

Support for Proactive Assistance

Whenever an important event approaches near, the white lights on the top of the Google Home will start to blink as a reminder. For instance, you have a class to attend at 4:15 p.m. and you are planning to leave home at 3:50 p.m. Suddenly, a traffic congestion takes place. Google Home will blink to notify you about the event. All you have to do is say hello to Google Home, and it will tell you that you need to leave 15 minutes early to reach your destination in time.

Multiple voice recognition

Now six people will be able to connect their account to a single Google Home. The device will identify the person just by listening to their voice. To connect, users have to go through a “Hotword Training” session. Users have to recite “Ok Google” three times to register. And you are all set to go! .

Availability of Bluetooth connectivity

Google is introducing Bluetooth connectivity to all existing Google Home products. Now you can play your favorite music in Google Home from your IoS or Android devices.

The future is unpredictable, and we cannot assume that Google Home will beat Amazon Echo with these new modifications. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for Google Home.
